Pricing and financing period for Agri Buyer Financing

Know how charges are calculated, with worked examples

Agri Buyer Financing uses a daily markup. The total cost depends on the number of installments you are approved for and the repayment period you choose.

Available periods and installments

When you submit your Funds Request, you select your repayment terms based on what you have been approved for: 1 installment repaid on any day you choose between day 7 and day 30, 2 equal installments on day 30 and day 60, or 3 equal installments on day 30, day 60, and day 90.

The daily markup

The daily markup depends on the number of installments: 0.23% per day for 1 installment, 0.21% per day for 2 installments, and 0.19% per day for 3 installments.

Total markup by installments

  • 1 installment: 0.23% per day, so the total markup depends on the period you choose (for example, 1.61% for 7 days, 3.22% for 14 days, or 6.90% for 30 days)

  • 2 installments (day 30 and day 60): 0.21% per day, total markup 12.60%

  • 3 installments (day 30, day 60, and day 90): 0.19% per day, total markup 17.10%

  • Any rewards you have earned are applied automatically during your Funds Request, reducing the markup you pay.

Worked example for one installment

Say you draw KES 500,000 and choose a 12-day financing period. At a daily markup of 0.23%, the total markup is 2.76%, which is KES 13,800. You repay KES 513,800 on day 12 from disbursement.

Worked example for two installments

Say you draw KES 500,000 using the 2-installment option. The total markup over 60 days is 12.60%, which is KES 63,000. You repay a total of KES 563,000 in two equal installments of KES 281,500 on day 30 and day 60.

Worked example for three installments

Say you draw KES 500,000 using the 3-installment option. The total markup over 90 days is 17.10%, which is KES 85,500. You repay a total of KES 585,500 in three equal installments of approximately KES 195,167 on days 30, 60, and 90.

How to choose your terms

Pick the shortest terms that fit your cash flow. With the 1-installment option you can repay on any day between day 7 and day 30. If you need more time, use the 2-installment (day 30 and day 60) or 3-installment (day 30, day 60, and day 90) option when you are approved for it. Choosing longer terms than you need means paying more markup.
