Paying off your Agri Buyer Financing early
Save on markup when you repay before the end of the period
If you have the cash to repay early, Avenews rewards you with a partial refund of the markup that has not yet built up. The rewards you earn are added to your rewards balance and applied automatically to your next Funds Request, reducing the markup you pay, so you do not need to do anything to claim them.
How the reward works
When you pay early, you save 50% of the markup that has not yet built up at the time of repayment. The markup that has already built up is still owed in full.
Worked example
Say you drew KES 500,000 on a 28 day Agri Buyer Financing term. The total markup at 28 days would be KES 32,200. If you repay on day 14:
Markup that has built up over 14 days: KES 16,100
Markup that has not yet built up for the remaining 14 days: KES 16,100
Reward: 50% of the unbuilt markup, which is KES 8,050
You repay KES 500,000 plus KES 16,100 plus KES 8,050, which is KES 524,150
Compared to KES 532,200 if you had waited the full 28 days, you save KES 8,050
