Paying back early and the savings
How early repayment rewards work across our products
If you can repay early, you save money. Every Avenews product gives you a reward when you settle a Funds Request before the end of its period. The size of the reward depends on the product.
What you get back
Agri Credit Line: 50% of the markup that has not yet built up
Agri Buyer Financing: 50% of the markup that has not yet built up
Stockist Financing: 50% of the markup that has not yet built up
Agri Supplier Financing: 100% of the markup that has not yet built up
ASF Express: 100% of the markup that has not yet built up
What does "not yet built up" mean
The markup is calculated for every day the money is in your hands. The markup that has already counted up to the day you repay is called the markup that has already built up. The markup that would have counted for the rest of the period is called the markup that has not yet built up. Early repayment rewards apply to the part that has not yet built up.
Worked example for ASF (100% reward)
Say you drew KES 850,000 for 30 days. Total markup at 30 days would be KES 43,350. If you repay on day 20:
Markup built up over 20 days: KES 28,900
Markup not yet built up for remaining 10 days: KES 14,450
Reward: 100% of KES 14,450, which is fully waived
You only pay the principal plus the KES 28,900 that has already built up
Worked example for ACL (50% reward)
Say you drew KES 100,000 for 30 days. Total markup at 30 days would be KES 8,920. If you repay on day 15:
Markup built up over 15 days: KES 4,460
Markup not yet built up for remaining 15 days: KES 4,460
Reward: 50% of KES 4,460, which is KES 2,230
You pay KES 100,000 plus KES 4,460 plus KES 2,230, which is KES 106,690
