Late charges by product

The exact daily rates that apply if a payment is overdue

Each Avenews product has its own late repayment terms. Here are the rates that apply if a payment is overdue.

Agri Credit Line

  • From day 1 to day 14 overdue: the same daily markup as your original term

  • From day 15 onwards: the daily markup increases by 150% of the original rate

Agri Buyer Financing

  • From day 1 to day 14 overdue: 0.23% per day, the same as the original rate

  • From day 15 onwards: 0.345% per day

Stockist Financing

  • From day 1 to day 14 overdue: 0.23%, 0.21%, or 0.19% per day, depending on your original 30, 60, or 90 day term

  • From day 15 onwards: 0.345%, 0.315%, or 0.285% per day for the same terms

Agri Supplier Financing

  • From day 1 to day 30 overdue: 0.17% per day, the same as the original rate

  • From day 31 onwards: 0.255% per day

ASF Express

  • From day 1 to day 30 overdue: 0.23% per day, the same as the original rate

  • From day 31 onwards: 0.345% per day

Worked example

Say you owed a final repayment of KES 100,000 plus KES 8,920 markup on Agri Credit Line, due on day 30. You pay 20 days late.

  • Days 1 to 14 overdue: original daily rate of 0.2975% per day

  • Days 15 to 20 overdue: 150% higher rate, applied for the remaining 6 overdue days

  • These charges are added to what you already owe
