The HR Officer will manage day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, and staff welfare. This role ensures that Avenews continues to attract, retain, and develop top talent while maintaining strong HR governance and employee experience.
Responsibilities
● Coordinate end-to-end recruitment across HQ and all hubs.
● Manage onboarding, induction, and first-90-day follow-up.
● Ensure HR policy compliance, proper documentation, and contract management.
● Support performance management cycles and consolidation of KPIs.
● Handle employee relations, welfare, conflict resolution, and engagement.
● Manage payroll inputs, leave tracking, and HR data accuracy.
● Coordinate training and development initiatives across the company.
● Support HR audits, field visits, and regional HR compliance.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
● 2–4 years’ experience in HR operations, preferably in microfinance, fintech, or fast-growth companies.
● CHRP certification (or in progress) is an added advantage.
● Strong understanding of Kenya labour laws and HR best practices.
● Excellent communication, record keeping, and problem-solving skills.
