Avenews is proud to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sustainable Management Services (SMS) — a key player in Kenya’s coffee supply chain, backed by Ecom Trading, the global powerhouse behind Dormans Coffee.
This partnership brings together SMS’s strength in agronomy and distribution with Avenews’ mission to unlock financial access for agri-SMEs across the country.
A New Chapter for Coffee-Sector Distributors
With deep roots in Kenya’s coffee trade, SMS launched a dedicated agrochemical line tailored for the coffee sector. These products are designed to improve crop quality and sustainability, but accessibility remains a challenge for many businesses in the chain.
Through this partnership, Avenews will provide flexible financing to ensure agrodealers, stockists, and farm-owned distributors across the coffee belt can stock and distribute these essential inputs with confidence.
It’s a practical, business-first step toward strengthening the entire supply chain.
Leadership at the Forefront
The MOU was signed by Nancy Kinyanjui, Managing Director at Avenews, and Peter Kirema Odongo, Head of Operations at SMS. They were joined by team members Emmanuel Murai and Betty Mulemia from Avenews, and Paul Mutuku and Peter Ndambuki from Sustainable Management Services, marking a strong start to a shared vision.
“This is about more than financing inputs,” said Nancy Kinyanjui. “It’s about backing the businesses that back farmers — and ensuring they have what they need to keep trade flowing.”

What This Means Going Forward
This partnership is a big step for agri-SMEs in Kenya’s coffee sector. By bringing together product innovation and financial access, Avenews and SMS are working to ensure that tools and support go hand-in-hand, and that farm-owned businesses aren’t left behind.
