We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Avenews and the Kenya Livestock Marketing Council (KLMC), a bold step toward unlocking financing for livestock traders and agri-SMEs across Kenya’s ASAL regions.

This partnership was made possible through the leadership of Abdikadir Mohamed (KLMC CEO), supported by Dr. Faisal Guhadha, Mr. Abdullahi Gulleid, and Betty Achieng. They were joined by Nancy Kinyanjui, Managing Director of Avenews Kenya, alongside the Avenews team, including Emmanuel Murai and Betty Simuyu, all united by a shared commitment to supporting growth in the livestock value chain.

What This Partnership Means With KLMC’s grassroots reach and Avenews’ flexible financing tools, we’re making it easier for livestock traders, processors, and suppliers to access working capital on time, on demand, and on their terms.

Together, we’ll:

  • Provide supplier financing and credit lines tailored to livestock trade cycles.

  • Capacity Building for Business Growth in key counties; Financial literacy forums, Field outreach events in ASAL counties

Why It Matters. A Shared Vision: Trade First, Not Aid First

KLMC has long championed the economic inclusion of pastoral communities and livestock traders, advocating for market access and infrastructure. Avenews aligns with this ethos: we offer financial access for agri-traders already in business. Our role is to supplement their growth.

By integrating ethical, digital-first financing into the livestock trade, we’re enabling smoother transactions, on-time payments, and reliable restocking, all while respecting the realities of the sector.

Let’s Keep Moving Mbele Zaidi

We’re excited for what lies ahead. If you're a livestock trader, abattoir operator, or buyer working with KLMC. Avenews is ready to walk the journey with you.
