Avenews is proud to announce the appointment of Nancy Kinyanjui as the new Managing Director of Avenews Kenya, effective immediately.
This marks a significant milestone for Avenews as the company deepens its commitment to building smart, inclusive financial infrastructure for Kenya’s agricultural economy. Nancy steps into this role at a pivotal time — when technology, finance, and food systems are converging in new ways, and when bold leadership is essential to shaping sustainable solutions that work for all.
An Experienced, Visionary Leader
Nancy brings over a decade of experience in digital finance, strategic growth, and inclusive lending, with a strong track record of delivering results across the financial services sector. A seasoned executive and fintech leader, she has successfully led financial institutions through expansion, designed SME-focused lending solutions, and driven data-driven innovation to serve real economy sectors.
Her leadership reflects a unique blend of business acumen and mission-driven thinking, and aligns deeply with Avenews’ vision of transforming how value flows through agricultural ecosystems in Kenya and beyond.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nancy to Avenews,” said Jonathan Tseelon, Group CEO, Avenews. “Her blend of strategic clarity, operational excellence, and passion for inclusive growth aligns perfectly with our mission to build a more accessible, tech-enabled agricultural economy.”
Why This Matters for Kenya’s Agri-Economy
Agriculture remains at the heart of Kenya’s economy, yet smallholder farmers and agri-SMEs continue to face barriers to accessing capital and markets. At Avenews, we believe that by reimagining agri-finance through technology and local partnerships, we can unlock a more inclusive, scalable, and resilient future.
Nancy’s appointment signals our strong belief in homegrown leadership with global capability. Her ability to align high-level strategy with on-the-ground impact makes her uniquely positioned to lead Avenews Kenya through its next chapter of innovation and growth.

Looking Ahead
At Avenews' brand launch, we committed to disbursing KES 2.5 billion to strengthen Kenya’s agri-supply and value chains — a bold step aligned with our mission to transform agribusiness in Africa.
By addressing the unique financial challenges of agri-SMEs, we aim to unlock growth, ensure healthy cash flow, and drive long-term, sustainable development.
With Nancy Kinyanjui at the helm, we are confident in our ability to scale this work, deepen partnerships, and help shape a future where agriculture is not only productive but profitable and fair for all.
Welcome aboard, Nancy. Karibu nyumbani.
